It is indeed my proud privilege to introduce the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy, Shillong, an apex autonomous Institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, established on 22nd December 2016. The Institute has developed into a prestigious centre for education in Ayurveda, nationally as well as internationally. The college of Ayurved has steadily progressed towards creating an outstanding position for itself in dealing with human ailments in terms of clinical care, medical education and research. North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy provides the finest learning environment with a collaborative platform that connects students, teachers and parents.
In the field of academics, our focus is to impart quality education with complete theoretical and practical knowledge, enhance clinical skills to mould students as better vaidyas. We strive to impart knowledge of Ayurved to our students with a scientific approach. We insist on the up gradation of the knowledge of our faculty and students alike and believes in the fact that regular interaction with experts, scholar and peers is the very foundation of a sound academic set-up. This is achieved by the organization of national and international workshops, seminars and conferences by the institution itself. We instigate and wholeheartedly support the participation of our faculty and students in various such events within or outside the institution. The faculty and students are encouraged to take up clinical studies and research projects in their relevant subjects and make a contribution in documenting and revalidating the ancient science of healing.
Curricular and co- curricular activities are diligently included in the academic calendar so as to promote the overall personality development of the students. This renders them the confidence to accept any challenge in their future life.
This is possible only due to the unconditional support of Ministry of Ayush and Director, Dr. Neeta Mahesekar who was an enormous sources of inspiration for us. I am sure that with her blessings this college will carve a niche in Ayurvedic field for itself at the national & global level. Highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic staff is the backbone of all these achievements.
Ayurveda is India’s unique contribution to the world’s treasure of knowledge. Health is precious and is more than the absence of disease. It has to be preserved. With much more to learn and adapt, the NEIAH Shillong makes a perfect gateway for everyone for the positive promotion of health in a holistic way.
